Demographics: You might claim your target market are ages 30 to 40, but is it? You may find most people that "like" your page are older or younger through your Facebook business page insights.

Tracking Reach: You can keep up with an increase/decrease in "likes", friends of friends that "liked" your page, people talking about your content, and track whether your weekly reach is growing. You should be able to correlate the increase in reach with your posts and then be able to tell what topics your audience likes more.

Content: With Facebook business page insights you can now see what content your audience likes more. Look below- Our first comparison is under the column "Reach". We "promoted" (Facebook allows you to promote a post up to $10.00 over 3 days) topics "Your Company's Facebook Page and "Likes" & "Advantages of a Custom Website" and the reach was over 2,000 for both, as opposed to 105 without promoting a post. Does that mean you should promote every post? Not necessarily. We would advise selecting the best topics to promote. Now look under column "engaged users" and "talking about this". Both topics were promoted for the same amount of money, but they both had drastic results in "engaged users" and "talking about this". Why? Well we think for 2 reasons. 1. The "Advantages of a Custom Website" was posted on a Friday (the other one was on a Wednesday) and went over the weekend. 2. "The Advantages of a Custom Website" also had a better picture I uploaded to the post and I think that picture captured people's attention more.

Conclusion: "Out of sight, out of mind"- That is not the mentality you want; however, you should not be changing your whole marketing strategy according to what you uncover on Facebook business page insights. The big takeaways are that you can see how your audience is reacting to your Facebook posts, which posts are better (which will improve your strategy) according to your audience, and you can see if you are gradually increasing your audience overall.
